TT BMX Lap

Sean Bostrom sings We Are The Champions in the rain after finishing a lap of the TT for Positive Bones

Facing the elements, Sean Bostrom cycled the TT lap on a BMX bike. Under torrential rain he took on the 38 hilly miles with an amazing support team around him, celebrating his finish by singing “We Are The Champions” by Queen on the finish line, a song he shares with his Daughter and our chair, Josephine Bridges.

Here are his words:

Today was the one of toughest challenges of my life! Thank you Steve Quayle for shaming me into doing it! Before I began the climb to the highest point on the TT Course I thought it had already beaten me but with the support of some of this planet’s finest people I made it to the end. Don’t be fooled by the video where I pull up in Ramsey for chips, I was in a lot of pain with the dreaded cramp and it got worse. What drove me on was that I knew that that pain will go away but some people have to live with pain everyday, all day. Josephine is still suffering with phantom pain please follow @positivebones and if you already are please share it with your friends explaining what it actually is. Right now we are fundraising for Josie to get her what she needs to live a good life and succeed as a Paralympic canoeist, when she’s sorted we’re going to become a registered charity to help others.

Note: This fundraiser was carried out prior to Positive Bones becoming a charity and during the time it was a fundraiser for our chair, Josephine Bridges. You can read more about her story and how we became a charity on our ‘about’ page.
